Regulations & Criteria 

Normec Verifavia conducts the IT System Certification according to the following regulations and criteria: 

  1. ISO 17065 Conformity assessment – Requirements for bodies certifying products, processes, and services 
  2. ISO 25051: 2014 Software engineering – Systems and software Quality Requirements and Evaluation (SQuaRE) – Requirements for quality of Ready to Use Software Product (RUSP) and instructions for testing 
  3. ISO 14065: 2013 Greenhouse gases – Requirements for greenhouse gas validation and verification bodies for use in accreditation or other forms of recognition 

In addition, for EU MRV: 

  1. Regulation 2015/757 on the monitoring, reporting and verification of carbon dioxide emissions from maritime transport (‘EU MRV Regulation’) amended by the Delegated Regulation (EU) 2016/2071 as regards the methods for monitoring carbon dioxide emissions and the rules for monitoring other relevant information 
  2. Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2016/1928 on determination of cargo carried for categories of ships other than passenger, ro-ro, and container ships pursuant to EU MRV Regulation 
  3. Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2016/1927 on templates for monitoring plans, emissions reports, and documents of compliance pursuant to the EU MRV Regulation 
  4. Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2016/2072 on the verification activities and accreditation of verifiers pursuant to the EU MRV Regulation

Important note: the use of an MRV and / or IMO DCS system certified by Normec Verifavia does not imply that the verification would be simpler, easier, faster, or less expensive if Normec Verifavia or any other verification body is used for the verification of the carbon emissions report of the user.
