It presents a way to reduce emissions from international aviation, minimizing market distortion, while considering the respective capabilities of ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) Member States. Under CORSIA, aeroplane operators are required to purchase and cancel emissions units to offset the increase in international CO2 emissions as covered by the scheme.
